Word-of-mouth referrals

Let’s face it, we would all love to have more customers in this very competitive wireless market.

And there’s no other way more effective and cost-efficient than word-of-mouth referrals.  None!

People value feedback from their friends and family members and use it to make their buying decisions.  The key is to turn the many happy customers you have into walking billboards for your store and do the advertising for you.   Here are a few suggestions:

1.  Referral Program:  Everyone loves a freebie and what better way to reward your customers for bringing their friends and family  than offering a free gift.     The gift should be cost-effective, but meaningful so that it has sufficient value for the customer.   A few ideas:

a.   5% cash reward for of the total amount spent by their referral.

b.   A fixed dollar reward (example $10) if their referral buys a phone

c.    A Faceplate or other phone accessory

d.   Pay a part of your customer’s bill

2.  Social Media:  You may have a 1000 regular customers and those customers may have 200 people each on their Facebook and other social media “friends” list.   That means, you have the potential to reach 200,000 customers  (200 x 1000)  to promote your business.    Create a Facebook page for your business and have your happy customers tell the whole world what a great service you provide.   When they walk in and while they wait for their phone to be activated, have them “Check In” to you business on Facebook.   Offer them a discount on phone accessories for posting on their Facebook wall that they shopped at your store.

3.   The most important key to word-of-mouth of referrals is an excellent customer service, each and every time.  Make your customers happy and they won’t stop talking about it!
